Flora
A small to medium-sized tree, the Paper bark tea tree belongs to the myrtle family, Myrtaceae.
This tree has flat and leathery leaves, and produces white flowers in autumn which appear as short bottlebrush spikes.
Paper bark tea trees resprout vigorously from epicormic shoots after bushfires, and have been recorded flowering within weeks of being burnt.
Trees can live for over 100 years, with 40-year-old trees achieving a trunk circumference of 2.7m.
