Flora
A seaside native, the Beach Flax Lily grows naturally in exposed coastal locations, generally on well-drained sandy soils.
With a preference for full sun, this species has dainty blue flowers that grow in bunches on long stalks. After flowering over spring and summer, the lily bears 1cm purple-blue fruits.
This species forms clumps via spreading underground rhizomes, and due to these matting characteristics, is a very effective sand-binder.
