Growing in swampy or waterlogged soils, this flowering Eucalyptus species is an important component of coastal ecosystems.

Swamp Mahogany has thick, spongy reddish-brown bark and dark green broad leaves, which help form a dense canopy.

Swamp Mahogany produces white to cream flowers which appear in autumn and winter. This species regenerates after fire, with its timber used for firewood and general construction.

A Swamp Mahogany tree can live for over two hundred years!
